About
Itsy Bitsy Spider is a V8 boulder problem located on Itsy Bitsy Boulder in the Illium Boulders area near Telluride, Colorado. The problem sits on the trailside face of the boulder and is characterized by crimpy, technical moves on high-quality sandstone. The climb begins low on two obvious crimps, requiring a hard move right to a pair of crimps, followed by a difficult deadpoint or jump to a sloping crimp below the lip. The lip itself presents a secondary challenge. The left arete and holds to its left are not part of the standard problem. Access involves taking the trail through the middle of the meadow, going left at the T-intersection, and following the path for about five minutes past three large boulders. The boulder is visible on the right shortly thereafter. Parking is available, and the site is pet-friendly. The problem is rated V8 and is considered an area testpiece.
