About
Jack's Free Fall Loop is an advanced mountain biking route located on the northeast side of the Hartman Rocks Recreation Area in Gunnison. The trail features significant elevation changes and technical terrain, characterized by steep inclines, loose rock, and large granite boulders. Riders navigate singletrack and dirt roads through sagebrush and between massive rock formations. Key segments include Lower Jack's, Jack's Trail, Tailpipe, The Ridge, Top of the World, Alonzo's, and Behind the Rocks. The route includes technical climbs and descents, with Free Fall noted as a crux descent. Pit toilets are available at the parking area. The trail is accessible from April through October. Parking is available near the trailhead, and pets are permitted.
