Large Surprises is an 80-foot trad climb graded 5.10 YDS located in the Tiara Rado area of the Colorado National Monument near Grand Junction, Colorado. The route begins under an eroded Chinle formation roof. Climbers jam their hands and stem to surmount the roof, then follow a corner that widens as it ascends. The climb is situated on the far right side around the buttress in a perfect corner. Parking is available at the Gold Star Canyon trailhead, accessible by heading south on Highway 340 from Fruita, turning right on South Broadway, and locating a break in the fence on the right. The trailhead involves a hike of approximately 30 to 40 minutes. The area is pet friendly.
