About
Last Tango in Durango is a rock climbing destination located in the Durango area of the Western Slope at 7,370 feet elevation. The site includes both a boulder problem and a top-rope route, offering a challenging experience classified as difficult. The boulder problem, identified as V6, is located at Legacy of the Kid Boulder within the Sailing Hawk Boulders area. It features unique slopy and pebbly pinches on a gently overhung face. Climbers start from a sit at the base of a low roof on an arete, moving up through the roof onto the face to reach a right-hand gaston and a long horizontal reach before heading left to a high but casual top-out. The landing is described as pretty good, requiring a pad and spotter. The top-rope route is a 50-foot 5.6 slab corner characterized by awkward climbing to the finish. Parking is available, and the site is pet-friendly. Access is possible year-round from January through December, with a typical duration of 4 hours for the climb.
