Left Leaning Crack is a moderate trad climbing route located near Montrose, Colorado, on the Western Slope. The crag sits at an elevation of 6734 feet, situated just outside town in the Dry Creek area. The route features an obvious angling crack with hand and fist-sized dimensions, offering quality sandstone climbing accessible within minutes of Montrose. The climb is approximately 40 feet (12 meters) long and typically takes around four hours to complete. Climbers use standard gear, including cams sized #2 through #4. There is no fixed anchor at the top; climbers slung a small tree past the lip for a top belay. The site is pet-friendly and offers available parking. It remains accessible year-round, though winter conditions may require additional precautions. The location is distinct from the massive multi-pitch granite walls of Black Canyon National Park, providing a more accessible entry-level classic climb option for those seeking quality sandstone routes.
