About
The Log Chutes Loop Connector is a moderate mountain biking trail in Durango, located just above the Colorado Trailhead at Junction Creek. The trail system consists of singletrack that winds through ponderosa pine forests, featuring loose sandy and rocky dirt surfaces. Riders can expect varying terrain with distinct climbs and descents. The area is typically about 10 degrees cooler than Durango. The trail serves as a link between other routes, allowing for loop options, though riders must watch for vehicles when crossing Junction Creek Road. Access is via the Log Chutes Parking Lot on Junction Creek Road, four miles past the Colorado Trail trailhead. The trail is open from April through October, though conditions can become dry and dusty in late summer, and spring showers or fall storms may affect the surface. Parking is available at the trailhead, and pets are allowed, though they must be kept on a leash.
