About
Lucky Charms is a single-pitch sport climbing route located at Clay Creek Crag, near Telluride and Norwood on the Western Slope. The route ascends 30 feet of solid, clean rock with a moderate difficulty rating of 5.8 PG13. The approach is short and straightforward, leading directly to the base of the wall. Climbers encounter two distinct cruxes: an initial power move ten feet up that requires a leftward burst, and a second technical section near the top featuring a high pocket. The route is protected by bolts and ends at three chains, making it suitable for both beginners learning sport climbing and experienced climbers seeking a warm-up. The area offers parking at the base and allows pets. While accessible year-round, the route is best enjoyed from late spring through early fall when sunny exposure keeps the rock dry. The surrounding San Juan Mountains provide a rugged backdrop, with diverse climbing options nearby including multi-pitch and bouldering routes.
