Lupine Trail 1

The Lupine Trail 1 is a moderate hiking route located on the north side of Slate River Road, just outside Crested Butte. The trail offers views of the Slate River Valley, Mount Crested Butte, and the town below. In the fall, the route features aspen colors. The trail runs on an easement through private property, so hikers should stay on the path. Parking is available at the trailhead near Nicholson Lake, though it can be restricted at other access points like Saddle Ridge Ranch Road. Pets are permitted. The moderate difficulty involves some incline and uneven terrain.
