Access is provided via the Bear Creek Trail, which begins at the southern end of South Pine Street in Telluride. The trail follows an old roadbed with a low gradient, leading approximately 2.5 miles into the canyon to the falls. The area is part of the Bear Creek Preserve, a 381-acre public open space managed by the San Miguel Conservation Foundation and the Town of Telluride. Parking is available at the site, though on-street parking near the trailhead can be limited. The location is pet friendly and allows hikers, bikers, and horseback riders. Climbing conditions vary by season, with winter requiring additional gear for ice climbing. The route typically involves a 4-hour outing or a 1.25-hour one-way hike. The terrain includes aspen and pine groves within the Uncompahgre National Forest.
