About
Mary E Campground is a managed US Forest Service facility located on County Road 63L (Ilium Road), approximately 6 miles west of Telluride on Highway 145. The site features 20 designated campsites situated along the South Fork of the San Miguel River. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and a numbered post. The campground provides portable toilets and a dumpster but has no potable water available. Vehicles, including RVs up to 40 feet in length, are permitted. Dogs must remain on leash at all times. The area offers dense aspen forest cover with partial privacy, though sites are relatively close together. Highway 145 traffic noise is audible throughout the campground, particularly for front sites. Cell service varies by carrier but generally reaches 3G to 5G levels. The campground operates from May through September and is open first-come, first-served.
