The trail connects Stacy's Loop to Cuchillo Trail, offering access to views of the La Plata Mountains to the north. It sits at an elevation ranging from 7,175 to 7,476 feet, with a total elevation gain of approximately 265 to 300 feet. The surface is dirt, and conditions are generally fair. The trail allows leashed dogs and bikes, but no motorized vehicles. Parking is available at the Horse Gulch Trailhead. The area is known for summer heat, so hikers should bring water. The trail is accessible year-round, though it gets dark early in winter evenings.
