About

Mike's Day Off is a rock climbing destination located in Glenwood Canyon near Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Situated at an elevation of 7,294 feet, the site offers a focused trad climbing experience on sweeping granite and quartzite slabs. The route is classified as moderate in difficulty, making it suitable for climbers with some experience who are comfortable with gear placement. The climb consists of 450 feet across three pitches, typically taking about six hours to complete. The approach leads through pine forests with views of the Colorado River. Climbers encounter twin cracks on the first pitch, leading to a belay ledge marked by a dead tree. The second pitch follows cracks and moves right around large blocks, requiring careful foot placement to avoid dislodging loose rock. The final pitch features an exposed slab and arete finish. Protection requires a Glenwood canyon rack, including single rack of cams, nuts, and pins. The area is accessible year-round from January to December. Parking is available on-site, and the location is pet friendly.
