The North Fruita Desert Campground in Loma, Colorado, is a Bureau of Land Management site centered on the 18 Road trail system, primarily serving as a hub for mountain biking. Located at an elevation of 5,099 feet, the campground is split into Upper and Lower units containing 111 total sites. The Lower Campground offers 53 sites with 12’ x 12’ tent pads, while the Upper Campground has 58 sites without constructed tent pads. Both units provide fire rings, concrete picnic tables, and vault toilets. There is no drinking water available on-site. Access is via 18 Road, which may have rough sections of broken asphalt and washboard gravel, suitable for most vehicles. The area is open year-round but is most active from May through September. Camping fees apply, and the site is pet-friendly. The location provides direct access to 33 miles of singletrack mountain bike trails along the base of the Book Cliffs.
