Pearl Lake State Park in Clark, Colorado, offers a moderate fall hiking experience centered around a 167-acre lake at an elevation of 8,069 feet. The park is located near Steamboat Springs on the Western Slope. Trails traverse aspen groves and surrounding hills, providing views of golden and orange foliage during the September through November season. The typical hike duration is about 2 hours, with well-marked paths and some elevation gain. Visitors should prepare for potential snow and ice as the season progresses. Parking is available, and restrooms are on site. Leashed dogs, service animals, and horses are permitted. The lake supports fly and lure fishing for cutthroat trout, arctic grayling, brook trout, and brown trout. Wildlife observations include mule deer, bear, porcupine, red fox, pine squirrel, beaver, muskrat, and over 200 bird species such as northern harrier, osprey, great blue herons, and greater sandhill cranes. The park operates daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Daily vehicle passes range from $12 to $17, with individual daily passes at $4. Fire restrictions prohibit open fires in developed areas.
