About
Playing In The Sheets (Left Arete) is a short, moderate sport climb located on Palisade Mountain in the Big Thompson Canyon, near Palisade and Estes Park. The route is bolted and measures approximately 55 feet. It begins on sheety flakes just left of a dihedral and leads to an upper smooth granite arete. The climbing features slabby moves with consistent hand and footholds. The route consists of six bolts plus bolted anchors on the left of a boulder resting on top of Nancy’s Rock. Access to the area has been open since 2023, following previous closures related to the Cameron Peak Fire and dead tree clearance, though climbers should verify current conditions as signage may be absent. Parking is available on-site, and pets are permitted.
