About
Pokey's Arete is a trad rock climbing route on Palisade Mountain near Palisade, Colorado. The climb features an arete ascending directly left of the second pitch of Neighsayer. Climbers use a combination of five bolts, slung chickenheads for protection, and finger to hand-size gear placements. The route allows for rappelling with a 70-meter rope using two single-rope raps. The area has been open to access since 2023, following the resolution of closures related to the Cameron Peak Fire and dangerous dead trees. Parking is available at the site, and pets are permitted. The route is classified as difficult.
