Rat Trap is a 2.2-mile intermediate singletrack trail in the Ridgway Area Trails (RAT) system near Ridgway, Colorado. The trail sits at approximately 7,535 feet elevation and is rated moderate difficulty. It typically takes riders about one hour to complete. The route features smooth flow and rolling terrain, consistent with the broader RAT network which offers wide-open views of the San Juan Mountains and surrounding high desert sagebrush and juniper. Access is available via parking at the trailhead, and the trail is pet friendly. The trail system is managed by the volunteer COPMOBA chapter and is closed annually from December 1 to May 1, making the riding season April through October. E-bikes are not permitted on the trails.
