About

Relics is a difficult rock climbing area located in Unaweep Canyon, approximately half an hour from Grand Junction, Colorado. The site features metamorphic granite, gneiss, and quartz monzonite walls, offering a distinct contrast to the surrounding sandstone climbs. The cliffs range from 150 to over 900 feet in height, providing routes that ascend via cracks of various sizes and difficulties. The area is characterized by excellent traditional crack climbing, with some bolt-protected and mixed protection routes available. Routes can extend up to nine pitches and are described as clean and sustained. Access is generally year-round, with parking available on-site. The area is pet-friendly. Climbers should be prepared for involved walkoffs and downclimbs for descents, as fixed gear is limited. The rock quality is noted as excellent, though it may require adjustment for those accustomed to other formations. The area is quiet with low traffic, preserving the feeling of first ascents on many lines.
