Located at 0094 County Road 244, approximately one mile north of Rifle on Railroad Avenue and then onto CO-13/West 20th Street, the facility provides a moderate difficulty level for access. The elevation sits at 5,504 feet, and visitors typically spend about two hours on site. Parking is available for vehicles, and the area accommodates pets. The district operates year-round, with the ranger office open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., excluding federal holidays. The location supports various outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, mountain biking, horseback riding, and OHV trail use. Dispersed camping sites are available along the many roads and trails in the vicinity, which is near the Flat Tops Wilderness. The area offers opportunities for viewing wildlife and scenery.
