Rocky Fork Trail is a difficult, multi-use mountain biking route in the Aspen and Basalt area of Western Colorado. The trail connects Kobey Park Road to the southwest corner of Ruedi Reservoir, traversing a remote canyon with an elevation range from approximately 7,648 feet to 10,520 feet. Most riders descend from the Kobey Park area using Forest Service Road 528, though starting points vary based on rider preference. The route spans roughly 7 to 10 miles and follows Rocky Fork Creek for much of its length, sometimes running parallel to the water and occasionally crossing through it. Terrain includes red rock cliffs, dark pine forests, and lush meadows. A key feature is trail finding; the tread can be obscured by overgrown grasses in meadow sections, requiring riders to identify the path by its alignment and creek crossings. Conditions vary with weather, particularly after rain when the trail can be muddy or tricky to navigate. The season runs from April through October, with parking available near the trailhead. Pets are permitted on the trail.
