Scenic Mesa Ranch is a hiking destination in Hotchkiss, Colorado, situated on the Western Slope. The site offers moderate trails suitable for completion in approximately two hours. Located at 7,373 acres, the ranch sits on a plateau bounded by the Gunnison River, Smith Fork, and North Fork of the Gunnison. The terrain features open sagebrush pastures, orchards, and views toward the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Hikers have access to parking on site and are permitted to bring pets. The trail is accessible year-round, with conditions varying by season. The location provides direct access to the Gold Medal trout fishery of the Gunnison River tailwater. Wildlife observations include mule deer, elk, and waterfowl in the surrounding ponds and river corridors. The ranch is located five minutes from Hotchkiss and offers equestrian facilities alongside the hiking trails.
