The Scenic Overlook is a short, easy trail located in Ridgway State Park, approximately six miles north of Ridgway, Colorado. The trail terminates at a viewpoint within the Elk Ridge Campground that overlooks the headwater section of Ridgway Reservoir and the San Juan Mountains. The route is a 0.25-mile loop with an elevation gain of 79 feet, rising from 6,980 feet to 7,059 feet. The surface consists of concrete and dirt. Parking is available at the trailhead. The trail allows leashed dogs, bicycles, and Nordic skiing in winter. It is accessible year-round.
