The Scenic Overlook Connector is an easy hiking trail in Ridgway State Park, located approximately 6 miles north of the town of Ridgway on the Western Slope. The route leads to a vantage point in the Elk Ridge Campground that overlooks the headwater section of Ridgway Reservoir and the San Juan Mountains. The trail is 0.25 miles long with an elevation range of 6,980 to 7,059 feet and a total climb of 79 feet. It is suitable for hikers of all skill levels, including families and beginners, due to its gentle grade. The trail is accessible year-round and can be used in both directions. Parking is available at the trailhead, which connects to the broader Ridgway Area Trails system. The spot is particularly noted for its panoramic views of the reservoir and surrounding peaks.
