Shangri-La is a rock climbing area in Durango, Colorado, located on the Western Slope at an elevation of 7,054 feet. The site features easy routes suitable for beginners and casual climbers, with an estimated visit duration of four hours. Parking is available on-site, and the location allows pets. The primary climb is a 45-foot (14-meter) traditional route established by Norton and Ritchey in 1974. Climbers navigate a short third-class section into a deep cleft, keeping right to finish the awkward start. Protection is provided by traditional gear. The area experiences a wildlife closure from December 1 to April 15, which may affect access during winter months. Despite this closure, the site is considered in season from January through December, suggesting year-round accessibility for those prepared for the restrictions.
