About
The Signal Peak East Loop is an 11.9-mile moderate mountain biking trail located in Gunnison, Colorado, just minutes from Western Colorado University. The route climbs to an elevation of 7,710 feet and typically takes about three hours to complete. The trail features rolling sagebrush terrain with a mix of smooth singletrack and doubletrack sections. Riders begin at a parking area accessible through a residential neighborhood, where speed and dust control are advised. The trail is open to non-motorized traffic, including pets, but prohibits e-bikes, dirt bikes, and ATVs. Seasonal closures protect local wildlife: bikes are closed from January 1 through April 30, and morning use is restricted before 10 a.m. from May 1 through May 15. The trail system is maintained by Gunnison Trails and managed by the BLM. There is no water or restroom facilities at the trailhead.
