About
Silver Bar Campground is a small, primitive, tent-only facility located five miles southwest of Aspen in the White River National Forest. Situated on the banks of Maroon Creek and adjacent to the Maroon Bells Welcome Station, the site offers four walk-in campsites. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and bear lockers. Centralized vault toilets are located near the sites, and a single accessible campsite is positioned near the water source and toilets. There are no drinking water or electrical hook-ups. The campground sits at an elevation of approximately 8,460 to 8,520 feet. Access is via Maroon Creek Road from Highway 82. The site is open from May through September, though weather conditions can vary, with afternoon thunderstorms and possible summer snow. Pets are allowed.
