About
Silver Queen Campground is a small, developed site in the White River National Forest located 6.5 miles southwest of Aspen on Maroon Creek Road. The facility contains five to six campsites situated within an aspen grove along Maroon Creek, offering direct views of Pyramid Peak. The elevation ranges from 8,460 to 8,700 feet. Sites accommodate tents and RVs or trailers up to 30 feet in length, though the access road can be rough for larger vehicles. Electrical hook-ups are not available. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and bear box for food storage. The campground provides drinking water and vault toilets. Cell coverage is available, primarily via Verizon LTE. The site operates from late May through September with advanced reservations required. Nearby trails include the Maroon Creek Trail and access to the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness. Afternoon thunderstorms are common, and biting insects can be present during the summer months.
