The route is situated on Chossy limestone, a sedimentary rock known for its porous texture and pocketed holds. It is part of the broader Rifle Mountain Park climbing area, which is recognized for having one of the highest concentrations of 5.13 to 5.14 grade sport routes in the United States. The specific route features steep climbing on large, flat holds, pockets, crimps, and pinches.
