About
Slant'n'Dicular is a 1.6 to 1.9-mile moderate hiking trail in Paonia, Colorado, connecting the Powerline Road area to the Jumbo Mountain Trail System. The route begins at the 'Tower of Power' junction on Powerline Road and ascends roughly 826 feet to the 'Grassy Knoll' at approximately 6,800 feet elevation. Hikers traverse a mix of meadowy shoulders and pinion-juniper forest, passing a sturdy bridge over a gully and connecting with the Big Man Climb, Elitches, and Ridge of Doom trails. The trail is accessible year-round, from January through December. Winter conditions may bring snow cover, while summer months can be dry and hot. Parking is available at the trailhead near Pan American Avenue, with additional space at Apple Valley Park, which includes a restroom. The typical hike duration is one hour.
