Splinter is a moderate mountain biking trail in the RAT Trail System near Ridgway, Colorado. The trail sits at an elevation of 7,354 feet and runs from April through October. Riders park near the trailhead and can bring leashed dogs on the route. E-bikes are not permitted. The trail is part of a larger network managed by the Town of Ridgway Parks, Trails & Open Space Committee. Splinter connects to other trails in the system, including Speedy Gonzales. The primary direction of travel for mountain bikers is downhill, though the trail can be ridden in either direction. The surrounding area offers views of the San Juan mountains and Ridgway Reservoir.
