About

Strand Bonus is a 1.4-mile moderate singletrack mountain bike trail in Crested Butte, Colorado, part of the Brush Creek trail network. The route connects Brush Creek Road to Strand Hill, serving as a gradual, shaded alternative to the steeper doubletrack road climb. Starting approximately one mile up Brush Creek Road near the Canal Trail, riders ascend through open meadows and aspen forests. The trail offers a rolling uphill climb of roughly 329 feet before meeting the intersection with Farris Trail. It is often one of the first trails to clear snow in spring, supporting a riding season from April through October. Parking is available at the Brush Creek Trailhead on Brush Creek Road, and pets are permitted. The trail eliminates half of the steeper road climb, making it a practical option for riders preferring singletrack over dirt roads.
