Sumac

Sumac is a 5.9 traditional rock climbing route located on the Poison Ivy Wall in No Name Canyon, just outside Glenwood Springs. The climb is approximately 60 feet long and features a left-facing dihedral with good jams, flakes, and big holds. It is situated on the west side of the canyon, near the bridge, and is accessible by hiking up the road. The area offers parking and allows pets. Climbers can expect moderate difficulty, suitable for those with some experience. The route is open year-round, though spring through fall provides the best conditions. The elevation of the climbing area is around 7,295 to 8,098 feet. The route is protected by trad gear and is known for its solid rock quality compared to the loose choss found elsewhere in Glenwood Canyon.
