About

The Pool Creek Section of the Tabeguache Trail is a 7.3-mile point-to-point hike located near Montrose on the Western Slope. The trail begins with an ATV-wide segment called the Parallel Trail (FSR 139) that runs alongside powerlines. At mile 0.8, hikers turn right onto singletrack. The route crosses a large drainage and winds through dense alpine forest, open meadows, and aspen groves. At mile 3.2, the path briefly follows a two-track adjacent to Divide Road before returning to singletrack. At mile 5, the trail reaches the Pool Creek Trailhead into Roubideau Canyon. From there, hikers continue straight on an ATV trail to E. Bull Road at mile 7.3. The terrain is moderate, and the dense forest with few high points can make route-finding challenging. Parking is available at the trailhead. The section allows hiking, biking, and dogs off-leash.
