Tech Beck's is a short, technical singletrack variation of the main Beck's trail in Gunnison, Colorado. Located near Hartman Rocks and managed by the BLM Gunnison Field Office, this 0.2-mile route connects to Road 3505 at an elevation of approximately 8,147 feet. The trail is classified as difficult or hard due to its steep grade and rocky surface, requiring hikers to step on and over numerous rocks along the singletrack path. A sign marks the trailhead near the top of the main Beck's trail, just to the left of its start. The elevation range spans from 8,013 to 8,146 feet with a gain of roughly 133 feet. While the distance is minimal, the technical nature and steepness justify a difficult rating, with typical completion times ranging from two minutes to eight minutes depending on pace and terrain negotiation. Parking is available at the trailhead, and the area remains accessible year-round from January through December. The trail is multi-use, allowing hiking, biking, and horses. Dirt surfaces are standard, and the location offers weather views typical of the Western Slope.
