The International Buttress is a prominent rock climbing formation in Glenwood Canyon, rising approximately 2,000 vertical feet from the canyon floor to the rim. The formation consists of stacked granite and limestone sections. It is located near Glenwood Springs, Colorado, at an elevation of 6,483 feet. The climbing is classified as difficult. Access requires parking at the Shoshone exit (Exit 123) and hiking upstream along the canyon bike path. Climbers must cross railroad tracks to reach the buttress, which is private property, so discretion is advised to avoid trespassing conflicts. The site allows pets and offers parking. The area is accessible year-round, though river crossing methods, such as boating, swimming, or rock-hopping, depend on seasonal water levels. The typical duration for a visit is about 21 hours.
