About
The Plagueround is a moderate mountain biking trail in the Ridgway Area Trails system, located near Ridgway, Colorado. The route spans 2.4 miles with an elevation of 7,221 feet and features bench-cut singletrack designed for flow. Riders typically complete the loop in approximately 36 to 60 minutes, depending on pace and whether they are hiking or biking. The trail offers a net elevation gain of 73 feet and includes berms to assist with speed and control. A key feature is its exposure; unlike many trails in the dense forest, The Plagueround exits tree cover to provide views of surrounding mountains. It connects directly to Lower Ratical, allowing riders to enter from that intersection and proceed counterclockwise. Parking is available at the trailhead, and pets are permitted on the route. The trail is generally accessible from April through October, though winter use occurs with potential snow and ice. It is part of a larger network of about 60 miles of singletrack managed by the local COPMOBA chapter.
