About

The Test is a sport climbing route located in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, on the western slope. Situated at an elevation of 8,717 feet, this climb is classified as moderate in difficulty. The route is approximately 60 feet long and features a low-angle limestone slab. Climbers follow two bolts past a small bush on a ledge, then clip the third bolt before navigating the first crux. The path continues into an arching crack, leading to a second crux characterized by reachy moves with less positive holds. The climb finishes in a shallow corner feature at the anchor. Access to The Test requires a waiver. The climbing area, known locally as the Puoux, is on private property within the Defiance Cave Preserve. Climbers must download, complete, and submit a climbing waiver to the property manager by email. There is no need to schedule specific times for submission, and historical access is maintained through this process. Parking is available on site. The area offers year-round climbing opportunities. The limestone rock quality supports consistent conditions from January through December. The route is suitable for a typical 4-hour outing. Pets are allowed to accompany climbers.
