The area is pet friendly and open year-round from January to December. Silverton’s alpine environment brings variable weather, including sudden temperature drops and afternoon thunderstorms in summer. Climbers should prepare for altitude challenges and cold conditions, which may affect the rock surface given the site's name. The climbing terrain features granite and volcanic formations, providing cracks, slabs, and chimneys typical of the San Juan Mountains.
