Traverse is a rock climbing destination in Telluride, Colorado, located on the Western Slope at an elevation of 9,370 feet. The site offers difficult routes suitable for experienced climbers and is accessible year-round from January through December. Parking is available at the base, and pets are permitted on the route. The area features exposed cliff bands with fixed steel cables characteristic of Via Ferrata systems, allowing climbers to attach lanyards for security in difficult sections. This infrastructure supports both technical multi-pitch climbing and exposed hiking-style traverses. The site is open to the public and supports guided expeditions, with local guide services operating there since 1973. Climbers can expect a commitment of approximately four hours to complete the standard route, though durations may extend to seven hours depending on group speed and technical variations.
