Trinidad Lake State Park offers moderate fall hiking from September through November in Trinidad, Colorado. The park sits at 6,295 feet elevation on the Western Slope, featuring over ten miles of trails that typically take about two hours to complete. The terrain includes pinyon-juniper woodlands, short-grass prairies, and rocky outcrops. Several trails are ADA-accessible, including the one-mile paved Sunset Point Trail which leads to a scenic reservoir overlook. Hikers encounter varied surfaces, ranging from steep inclines and uneven ground to gradual, smooth paths. The park provides parking, restrooms, and picnic areas with grills. Leashed dogs and horses are permitted on the trails. The climate is mild, making it suitable for outdoor exploration during the autumn months.
