About

The Twin Buttes Short Loop is a 4.7-mile moderate mountain biking trail located just west of downtown Durango. The route begins at a dirt parking lot near the Giant Gas Station on Highway 160. Riders ascend via tight switchbacks before entering a section of 100% singletrack characterized by banked turns and flowy descents. The trail includes technical rock sections and punchy climbs, ending near the Lightner Creek Trail. It is a multi-use path shared with hikers, so watch for foot traffic. The trail system allows Class One e-bikes. Access is available year-round, though conditions vary. Parking is provided at the trailhead.
