It serves as a link between the outer and inner sections of the Jumbo system, specifically connecting to Lower Plumbers Crack and The Crotch. The trail begins at a junction on Jumbo Ridge, situated at a flat section just below the upper steep sections. From this starting point, the trail extends a short distance to another junction where hikers can choose to descend left onto Lower Plumbers Crack or ascend right toward The Crotch and Desolation Basin.
