Vega State Park offers a moderate 4-mile hiking trail at an elevation of 8000 feet, suitable for fall hiking from September through November. The trail conditions can be dry and rocky, with potential snowfall in late October and November, so hikers should be prepared with proper footwear and layers. The park's terrain features rolling hills and scenic overlooks, with the surrounding landscape transforming into a kaleidoscope of autumn colors during the fall season. Visitors can access the trail from the parking area and take advantage of the available restrooms, with pets also welcome to join on the hike.
