Vulture Rim is a 0.7-mile hiking trail located in the Dry Creek Recreation Area near Montrose, Colorado, on the Western Slope. The trail sits at an elevation of 6,326 feet and is classified as easy to moderate in difficulty. It offers a relatively flat route suitable for hikers of all skill levels, with typical completion times ranging from 21 minutes to half an hour. Parking is available directly at the trailhead, providing convenient access for visitors. The trail connects to the Buzzard Gulch Trail system via two distinct points, allowing for loop options or integration with nearby routes like the Mailbox Trail. The terrain features a mix of smooth slickrock and more technical sections with ledges, particularly in the wash area before the trail ascends to the rim. Cell service is generally available with 2 to 4 bars of signal strength. The trail remains accessible year-round, operating from January through December without seasonal closures.
