West Face, also known as Sunshine Superman, is a rock climbing route on Needle Rock in Telluride, Colorado. The summit sits at 10,656 feet and is visible from town near Lift 8. The climb features a single pitch with moderate difficulty, rated around 5.9+ at the crux and 5.6 or easier above. The first 20 feet present a hand and fist crack through a bulge, requiring jamming and face climbing. The rock is Telluride conglomerate with questionable quality and loose rocks throughout. Protection is sparse, consisting of four bolts at the top anchor that are equalized with cord, though some show age. The route is accessible year-round and offers parking at the base. It is pet-friendly, allowing dogs on the outing.
