The West South Rim trail is a 0.9-mile mountain biking route located near Gunnison, Colorado, on the Western Slope. It winds around the southern side of Signal Peak and connects to the existing South Rim Trail network. The route is rated as moderate or intermediate difficulty, featuring a net elevation gain of approximately 184 feet with a maximum elevation near 8,851 feet. Riders encounter varying conditions, including dry rocky terrain and potential early-season snowpack. The trail is accessible from April through October, with specific motorized use restrictions applying between January 1 and May 15. Parking is available at the trailhead, and the route permits pets. The path offers sweeping turns and moderate inclines, making it suitable for a short ride or a sunset excursion. A fork in the trail allows access from the main South Rim section.
