Where Eagles Dare is a difficult rock climbing route located in Telluride, Colorado, on the Western Slope. The climb takes place at an elevation of 13,406 feet and is situated on the left side of a canyon. The route spans 90 feet (27 meters) and is classified as trad climbing with fixed bolts for protection. First ascended by Antoine Savelli in 1986, the climb is known for being physically demanding. The lower half of the route features a crux that requires significant effort and specific handholds, described by climbers as involving large gastons. After reaching a ledge to rest, the upper section continues with less pumping but remains challenging. The route is accessible year-round, from January through December, though winter conditions may require additional gear and expertise. Parking is available at the site, and pets are permitted.
