Wilbert's Way is a 1.3-mile hiking trail in Durango, Colorado, located on the Western Slope at an elevation of 6,553 feet. The trail is rated easy and typically takes about one hour to complete. It begins near the Oxbow parking lot, where visitors cross train tracks and head east toward the Animas River. The route contours around an oxbow bend, passing through areas with overhead-high willows and emerging near the river edge. A green gate marks a transition point; beyond this gate, dogs and bikes are not allowed. The trail continues through open terrain shaded by large cottonwood trees with benches, offering views of the river. The path is a singletrack that can be used in both directions and remains visible throughout. Parking is available at the trailhead, and the trail is pet-friendly up to the green gate. It is open year-round.
