About
The Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College opened its doors in 1997, rising from the ashes of a collapsed roof that left Durango without a major performing arts facility in January of that year. This venue serves as Southwest Colorado’s primary hub for music, theater, dance, and lectures, hosting an eclectic mix of college and community performances. The programming spans from the San Juan Symphony’s season subscription series to diverse acts like the John Stickley Trio and Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana. Seasonal highlights include the Bar-D Wranglers Christmas Jubilee and the annual Nutcracker ballet featuring State Street Ballet. The hall also presents the Backstage Pass Series with artists such as Liz Longley and Raye Zaragoza, alongside magic shows and rock tributes. Its mission focuses on delivering low-cost, high-quality productions that reflect the tastes of the Four Corners region while educating audiences about global performance traditions.
