Crawford State Park
About
Pinyon-juniper woodlands dominate the uplands of Crawford State Park, hosting Utah juniper, pinyon pine, mountain mahogany, and Gambel oak alongside understory grasses like western wheatgrass and galleta. Deeper soils support sagebrush shrublands rich in big sagebrush, rabbitbrush, and prickly-pear. Around the reservoir, diverse wetland and aquatic plant communities thrive near drainages and ground water seeps. The park serves as a hub for outdoor recreation, providing hunting, fishing, wildlife viewing, camping, biking, and hiking opportunities. Managed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife, it stands alongside other regional state parks, offering access to scenic natural areas and diverse habitats for both residents and visitors.
